Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! To celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday, students made Lorax mustaches. They wrote truffula seed stories and created beautiful truffula tree artwork with watercolors and construction paper. For math, we created a class bar graph of our favorite Dr. Seuss books and analyzed our data. Students were surprised at snack time with my favorite version of "green eggs and ham." St. Patrick's DaySeamus, the Leprechaun, visited our classroom and made a mess searching for gold! Students cleaned up his mess and brought their leprechaun traps to school the next day. After sharing their traps, students set them up around the room. So far, we have had no luck in catching the leprechaun! |
Rocks, Soil, and Fossils… Oh My!The rocks and soil science unit is always a favorite among Kindergarten students. Throughout this unit we have had fun sorting rocks according to observable attributes, describing rocks using multiple attributes, learning about soil composition, and creating our own fossils!
